Welcome to the site of Gill Arno, also home of the mpld amplified
slide projection.
The year is starting really well. My collaboration piece with Andrew
Beccone (begetter and conservator of the Reanimation Library) was published
a few days ago as part of the new TXT FST installment, on Triangulation.
Curated by Kurt Gottschalk and Tamara Yadao, and made possible by Radio
Ruido, the project also includes a collaboration piece by Richard Kamerman
and Paul Haney, and three incredible live pieces by Alessandro Bosetti's
trio Trophies.
For more streaming music, check out Winds Measure's new Soundcloud page,
which has a mix that includes two mpld pieces along with a
weighty selection of tracks culled from the label's stellar catalog.
Speaking of online music, I have just updated the Fotofono
blog with the recordings from last September's event. The lineup included
Andrew Lafkas, Bryan Eubanks, Cat Lamb, Jason Kahn, Radu Malfatti and
Tucker Dulin. And on a sidenote, I am very excited as well about the
upcoming event, next Sunday – with Andy Hayleck, Ben Owen, Carver
Audain (trio), Doron Sadja, and Tyler Wilcox. To know the details and
directions, please send me an email at gill@unframedrecordings.net.
Finally, I have some performances ahead – some very nice new collaborations,
all including slide projections, and possibly some solo mpld
too (in Texas):

An evening of modular collaborations.
With Gill Arno, Patrick Franke, Richard Garet, Wolfgang Gil, Andrew
Lafkas, David Moscovich, Daniel Neumann, Ben Owen, Ole Schmidt, and
Chris Weinheimer. The group will explore collaborative strategies of
composing and performing sound and visuals based on the idea of modular
organisation. Pieces are developed in non-hierarchical and decentralized
forms where collaborators interact as equals. The modular structure
is reflected less on the technical level but primarily on the level
of collaborative formulation of ideas and its execution.
For this evening multiple interconnected pieces for different constellations,
overlaps and re-occurring themes will be presented (text from press
release).
